Quote from Mustangman759 :JG24 just needs a lot of luck, and maybe some blackmagic. No but seriously without really bad finishes in the kenseth and JJ I don't see him winning it

Yeah, I agree 100%. I was just having some fun with that post.

Quote from PMD9409 :Stewart just hit the button at the right time. I can't see anybody else pulling off a feat like that.

Kenseth nor Johnson will score outside the top 10 the next few races unless something catastrophic happens to one of them, so Gordon is fighting for 3rd essentially with Kyle and Kevin. IMO, he shouldn't even be in the championship, especially after turn two at Pocono, but that's a whole different topic that we will act like was never brought up.

Just because you can't see it happening doesn't mean it can't. Crazy things that no one ever saw coming have happened in the past, and there's nothing stopping it from happening again.

On a serious note: Yeah, I realize that it's not "realistic" to think Gordon, or anyone else in the top 5 other than Kenseth or Johnson will have a shot at it come Homestead. But you have to consider what this guy has done in the past, if he could just get this decade-old Monkey off his back he could be back to where he was in the 90's and early 2000's.

Quote from PMD9409 :Yep, and you're just another blind 24 fanboy like they all are.

You act as if he has no shot of doing remotely well in Cup anymore. There are some fans that are much more "blind" than those of Gordon. I've just never understood why Gordon fans are perceived as this outcast group following without a cause, it's not like we're any different than other fan groups.

Oh, wait, we are... They don't have one of the greatest drivers of all time to root for.

I guess all the people who give Gordon/his fans a hard time are all of the leftover Gordon boo-er's from the 90's. Who are most likely still jealous because he continues to perform better than whoever their favorite driver is.

All of this would be amazing. So much added realism would come about due to this stuff.

Quote from PMD9409 :While true, they built their own luck as well. But who knows, he could win the next 3 races.

Yeah, I suppose they did. That would be a truly amazing feat, he might snatch the title if he did. Depending on where Johnson and Kenseth finish. He would have to muster up a whole lot of the "Old-Jeff" for that to be even considered realistic though.

I honestly do think he still has a shot to win the title. It might be a longshot, but from how he's been performing leading up to and in the Chase I wouldn't see why he couldn't reel off at least 1 more win and be in serious contention by Homestead.

This is all hopes and dreams from I die-hard Gordon fan though. I'd be really happy and surprised if any of this happened.

Quote :They weren't bad this year, Smoke just wasn't good. He wasn't that great 2 years ago either, just pulled it together in the chase.

Sorta like Gordon this year. *wink*

But yeah, he had a mediocre season at best before the chase. It was a shock to me that he even had a shot at it. (Talking about 2011)

Quote from Bmxtwins :Well remember that Harvick didnt anticipate the 4th car

Yeah, I had actually forgotten about that.

Quote from PMD9409 :I'd save a recording of that one, who knows the next time he will get another.

Haha, I got a good laugh out of that. To be fair though, he has had multiple chances to win this season. It was mostly things that he couldn't control that took him out of contention.

Quote from UncleBenny :I hate how Harvick tried to apologize for what he said after the race Saturday. That's exactly what everyone thinks about the Dillons anyway, I realize he has to try to keep things civil while he still finishes the season with RCR, but it doesn't shock me that's why he left the team.

Yep, I didn't believe a word he said. From seeing/hearing about what his/RCR's relationship has been like lately, I see why he's leaving and said the things he did.

Though I can't help but wonder how things will go at SHR, they're not the hottest team either. I feel like there were probably better options for him. Especially since SHR went to 3 teams and started running poorly, you have to think that going to 4 will have a similar impact.

Quote from Bmxtwins :I like how that race ended. My man on top. Oh wait... that didn't come out right.

I think we all know that's exactly what you meant to say.

Happy day for Gordon fans everywhere, Big Daddy's back to victory lane! I'm excited to see what this momentum will do for his championship bid.

Quote from RandomnessInside :It has now been decided that the round 4 in Blackwood will be delayed by 1 week. The fifth and final round will be held 1 week after the new date for round 4, regardless.

Alright, this will give me some time to take care of other stuff. So it's not all bad.

I'm just happy we all know what's going on with Formula M now, this week was weird compared to other race-weeks.

Still no results, or even a conformation list for the next race? Which is in 2 days, I might add.

Quote from RandomnessInside :Nah, not really. He was fast enough to hold his position. I also spun after the lap I wrecked my suspension, as I wanted to try if I could continue with it. Seems like I couldn't.

Anyway I'm happy with 2nd after the mistakes. I hope I could finally pull out a victory in Blackwood...

Yeah lol, I don't think anyone avoided spinning, except for Velikov.

Hehe, from what I felt in Practice at BL earlier I think I'm pretty quick. So I might legitimately get a good finish there.

Quote from RandomnessInside :Actually, I just checked and had the tire change setting on "Always" so I changed the tyres even though there was no need to.

In the other hand it didn't matter as there still was like a 25~ second gap between me and Velikov.

Yeah, he really pulled away from the rest of us. I think if we had 10 more laps you might have been able to catch him.

Quote from RandomnessInside :The pitstop had nothing to do with the worn tires. I could've easily continued on track with worn tyres but I had to make the pitstop because of the wrecked suspension. I was expecting those kind of laptimes anyway...

That's right... I don't know what I was thinking. You didn't even change tires in the pits, they weren't worn enough when you went in.

I had a really fun time this race, qualified last, but that's not to say I wasn't on pace. The whole field was only separated by ~3 seconds. So it was shaping up to be a really close race IMO.

But sadly it was anything but that, lol. We lost nearly half the field in the first 6 laps, I believe. I was running 4th at the time. I eventually made my way to 2nd until Toumas finally caught up to me. I didn't put up much of a fight since he was so quick. I think his pit-stop payed off somewhat, since he didn't have much falloff on his lap times due to worn tires and was able to run blazing laps the entire race.

After all was said and done, we had some more retirements, some for no reason it seemed. And I brought the Kart home to a 3rd place finish, out of 4 cars... Not a huge accomplishment when you think about it, but a podium is a podium. And I'll finally be in the standings. I also ran a faster lap during the race than in practice (1:52.84), which is the first time I've done that in the whole series.

I'll leave this weekend a happy man, excited for the rest of the season.

Well that's a bit disappointing. I hope to see the results up soon.

Once again, my race was cut short... I only completed 14 laps until I swerved after being run up on by a faster kart and ended up butted against the wall. I probably could have handled the situation better and continue, but I suppose I wasn't meant to finish this one. So I still won't be in the standings, but that can only motivate me to do well at Aston.

One other sim, not a racing sim, but a vehicle sim, that is including Oculus Rift support is BeamNG.

This is all very exciting to me, finally having a reasonable way to use VR in gaming is truly revolutionary. I wouldn't mind paying $30-$100 for something like this, but a free one sure would be nice.
